This document thas been submitted to Havant Borough Council for formal approval. Once adopted, the EDS will be an advisory planning document which will be used as a material consideration when planning applications are assessed by HBC's Planning Management Committee. The content must therefore mainly deal with planning and design issues. Please note: Some of the pictures and maps in the downloadable copy are draft copies only and will be replaced before publication. |

About EmsworthEmsworth is located close to the A3M and South Coast Trunk road and is within a short driving distance of both Portsmouth and Chichester. The Railway station is has direct services to Brighton, London (Victoria), Portsmouth, Southampton and Salisbury

Emsworth is popular with sailors, artists, naturalists and walkers. The two tidal millponds to east and west are host to a variety of wild life. Emsworth has a long history connected with oyster fishing and boat building and still boasts traditional shipwrights and chandleries. Its attractive streets are lined with a mixture of architectural styles and high walled gardens and a walk around the town gives a genuine feel for the past, with exceptional harbour views.
